Overview
By some estimates, women will control as much as two-thirds of the nation's wealth in the coming years. However, women continue to lag behind men in financial literacy—a disparity with far-reaching implications. Alpha Sigma Tau recognizes the unique challenges that women face when it comes to finances. We also recognize the gap in financial education in most traditional school settings. Alpha Sigma Tau strives to fill this void and provide members with the tools they need to successfully navigate their financial lives, both now and in perpetuity.
To help our members navigate and overcome these systemic challenges, we have partnered with Indiana University's Office of Financial Literacy and Pete the Planner to offer MoneySmarts U - an interactive, self-paced online learning program focused on providing on-going curriculum based on each women’s individual situation, needs, or goals in life. MoneySmarts U empowers members to take ownership of their financial journey by equipping them with the awareness, knowledge, and skills to make informed financial decisions and advocate for themselves financially.
Alpha Sigma Tau is proud to provide members the opportunity to ensure financial empowerment through the delivery of MoneySmarts U. This partnership is made possible by donations to Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation. Continued contributions to the Foundation from members and friends help ensure the long-term sustainability of this program, as well as the flexibility to continue to innovate to meet the needs of our community.
